Lake Stewards of Maine encourages its supporters to use available company matching programs to leverage their gifts. Please contact your employer to see if your gift might be eligible for a match. In some cases, matches are processed using an online system and the receiving organization must be notified to complete the process. Please contact LSM at  development@lakestewardsme.org  or (207) 783-7733 to assist in the processing of your matching gift.

Making a recommendation to allocate a gift to Lake Stewards of Maine through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is simple. Please contact your DAF provider if you choose to recommend a gift to Lake Stewards of Maine. You may also include Lake Stewards of Maine as a remainder beneficiary with your DAF. 

A Designated Fund at community foundations is another way to designate Lake Stewards of Maine as a beneficiary. Income from the fund, and in some cases principal, is distributed to Lake Stewards of Maine in accordance with the instructions you provide at the time of the gift to establish the fund.

Individuals 70 ½ and older may transfer up to $105,000 per year directly from an IRA to Lake Stewards of Maine, known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution. While gifts from your IRA do not qualify for a charitable deduction, they do count towards your Required Mandatory Distribution and are not subject to personal income taxation. Please contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift today directly from your IRA to Lake Stewards of Maine.

Donating appreciated stocks, bonds and mutual funds is a quick and easy way to support Lake Stewards of Maine today. You may be able to save on taxes twice – income tax and capital gains tax – allowing you to make a larger donation than with cash.
